the man who lost his soul
never really knew
the reason for his life
and all he had to do
so busy chasing shadows
dancing on the wall
he never found the time
to learn the rule

the man who lost his soul
didn't realize
that life is just a joke
a lesson in disguise
always searching for something
that never had a name
though it always stood before him
still he lost the game

the man who lost his soul
is staring back at me
from my morning mirror
but he can't really see
his are wide open
but not his tarnished soul
he cannot face the truth
of life without a goal
